Backup your site before updating the theme<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please follow the steps via using a plugin to automatically backup your current theme and uploading the new version:\u00a0http:\/\/wordpress.org\/extend\/plugins\/easy-theme-and-plugin-upgrades\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Backup Setting of Customizer before updating the theme<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please follow the steps in WordPress forum in order to backup the setting of Customizer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Prerequisites for updating the theme<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. First you need to download the latest version of theme.\u00a0Log into your Themeforest account and navigate to your downloads tab. Find the \u201cGrand Car Rental\u201d theme purchase.<\/li>\n
  2. Click the \u201cdownload\u201d button next to it and choose to download the \u201cInstallable WordPress Theme\u201d<\/strong> which is just the WordPress file, or choose the \u201cMain Files\u201d which is the entire package which include theme documentation, plugins etc.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Update using Envato Market Plugin<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. You need to download the plugin from here<\/a>.<\/li>\n
    2. The plugin Settings Page allows you to configure your Envato API Personal Token. This API Token is generated from build.envato.com<\/a> and will allow WordPress to securely receive item updates. See detail instruction here<\/a>.<\/li>\n
    3. Click the ‘Envato Market’<\/strong> menu in WordPress Dashboard.<\/li>\n
    4. Enter your API Key and you will be able to see your purchased items which is included Grand Car Rental theme<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Update using\u00a0plugin<\/strong><\/p>\n

      1. You need to download and install Easy Theme and Plugin Update<\/a>.<\/li>\n
      2. After installing the plugin. Go to Apperance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme<\/strong><\/li>\n
      3. Select\u201cgrandcarrental-v…installable.zip\u201d file and choose “Upgrade existing theme”<\/strong> option to “Yes” and click “Install Now” button<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Update using WordPress Dashboard<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        1. you may want to use a plugin to automate backing up your current theme and uploading the new version: http:\/\/wordpress.org\/extend\/plugins\/easy-theme-and-plugin-upgrades\/<\/a><\/li>\n
        2. You need to deactivate \u201cGrand Car Rental\u201d theme in the Appearance > Themes<\/strong> by simply activating a different theme. Once you activate a different theme, you can delete the\u00a0Grand Car Rental theme. Don’t worry. You really won’t loose any of your data.<\/li>\n
        3. Get\u00a0the \u201cgrandcarrental-v…installable.zip\u201d file from Themeforest\u00a0Account > download<\/strong>. If you downloaded the \u201cMain Files\u201d from Themeforest, then you need to unzip the archive file you received, thegrandcarrental-v…installable.zip\u00a0will be inside of it.<\/li>\n
        4. Upload grandcarrental-v…installable.zip using\u00a0Appearance > Themes <\/strong>once you uploaded successfully, activate the theme.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Update using\u00a0FTP<\/strong><\/p>\n

          1. You may want to use a plugin to automate backing up your current theme and uploading the new version:\u00a0http:\/\/wordpress.org\/extend\/plugins\/easy-theme-and-plugin-upgrades\/<\/a><\/li>\n
          2. Login to your FTP account.\u00a0Navigate\u00a0to wp-content > themes<\/strong> location and backup your \u201cGrand Car Rental\u201d theme folder by saving it to your computer, or you can choose to simply delete it.\u00a0Don’t worry. You really won’t loose any of your data.<\/li>\n
          3. Get\u00a0the \u201cgrandcarrental-v…installable.zip\u201d file from\u00a0Themeforest\u00a0Account > download<\/strong>. If you downloaded the \u201cMain Files\u201d from Themeforest, then you need to unzip the archive file you received, the grandcarrental-v…installable.zip\u00a0will be inside of it.<\/li>\n
          4. Drag and drop the new “Grand Car Rental” folder into\u00a0wp-content > themes\u00a0<\/strong>and select “Replace” if you didn’t delete it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Common Issues<\/strong><\/p>\n

            1. Are You sure you want to do this?<\/strong> If you get this message. Please check with your webhost upload file size limit and ask them to increase the limitation.<\/li>\n
            2. Theme install failed destination folder already exists<\/strong> This is because WordPress allows you to have only 1 theme with the same name and folder.
